Hobby’s sculpture often contrasts delicate subject matter with the raw beauty of materials such as cast iron and copper slag. Broken shards and exposed surfaces add an uncertain fragility to her work challenging the viewer to interpret the context and process of each sculpture in a fresh and unusual way.
