The artist has identied species of songbirds with only a few remaining pairs. These are songs of birds precariously on the edge of extinction. The recordings of these rare songs have been converted from sound waves to create rounded three-dimensional sculptural forms through a process of 3D printing and precise casting to create a series of monuments to songs that have almost disappeared; totems that will endure after the birds that sang them have gone. By giving these songs a permanent form, these sculptures will be a reminder that not everything will persist through the current environmental emergency. The species depicted through songs are: sulu hornbill, slender billed curlew, south island kokako, and Californian condor.
