“I envisaged geometric shapes, cubes, different flat planes etc. intersecting at dynamic angles in an imagined space. The space was provided by white gallery walls. I was feeling and thinking my way into the infinite space that my father had talked to me about, space that extended beyond where the inevitable mental barrier kicked in. I had noticed that fluorescent paint would reflect a soft glow off a white surface, and angle iron combined with the concave space facing a wall would hide the origins of the glow and add a cushion of mystery. I enjoyed watching people trying to find out where the pink light was coming from. I addressed a slightly different geometric puzzle in each piece.”
