Created in 2026, 'Enfolded' is a ceramic wall-based sculpture by Danish artist Merete Rasmussen. The work is meticulously hand-built using traditional coiling technique with stoneware clay. Conceptually, the work is an example of Rasmussen’s interest in the reconciliation of opposing forces – expansion and contraction – into a harmonious whole.
Merete Rasmussen was born in Denmark and was brought up in Sweden. Her work is held in a number of public collections including The Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, the National Fund of Contemporary Arts, France, and the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. Pangolin London is delighted to represent Merete Rasmussen in the UK.
