This stunning collection of busts have been created by contemporary sculptor Zachary Eastwood-Bloom using a combination of data taken from a series of classical portrait busts and artificial intelligence.
Skillfully blown in glass from moulds, each bust bears an uncanny resemblance to someone recognisable yet the profiles and nuances of form have been artificially created using software that has 'learnt' how to create human form from a series of scans Eastwood-Bloom took of classical busts. Their mirrored surfaces not only give the impression that these forms are constantly morphing but also intended so that we see ourselves in the surface. These exciting new works highlight Eastwood-Bloom's continued interest in the intersection between the classical tradition and cutting-edge contemporary sculpture practice.
