Relating to the Darling Train Maquette in its colossal use of bricks the initial inspiration for this piece came from a proposal to build a swollen temple between two terraced buildings in an average street to give it a dynamic yet classical dimension. Since then the idea has developed to into a more anarchic landscape referencing the coal heaps of Britain's mining history and the degradation of our manufacturing and industrial pride.
