'By the time I made this sculpture in 2004, colour had become an ever important part of my work. A pink bronze seemed deeply subversive at the time. Contrasting colours also allowed me to develop my interest in bringing the two processes of drawing and sculpture making together. So 'Pink Lady' is able to combine the two drawing conventions of portrait and profile into a three dimensional sculpture.'
