Sue Freeborough British, b. 1941

Freeborough creates sculptures that are witty, humorous, and touching yet these qualities often mask an intellectual and conceptual rigour. Other works investigate the self image, memory and pairings through the whole body. Freeborough’s work evolves as a construction, focusing on the task of transforming an idea into a sculptural form and often develops from drawings and philosophical readings. A variety of materials such as bronze, aluminium, glass or silicone reflect and enhance her ideas.
